Where stone edges are visible they need to be treated in such a way so the effect is consistent with the face finish.
Edge detailing not only refers to the finish to be applied to the edge (i.e. Polished edge to flamed paving) but also the shape of the edge or stone junction.
For commercial stonework edge details are fairly simple and usually involve the junction of two stone surfaces such as a wall meeting a capping or at the corner of a column.
